Project 1 (cont.) - New Photos

I went back and looked at my wire structure from our first project. From carrying it around, and just generally over time it started to lose a lot of its crayon pieces and just generally was wearing down. I wanted to take more pictures in different perspectives of the piece. Different views always allow you to see what you can do differently next time.

I began to play with light and movement. Instead of waiting for the shutter to shut completely right before it would complete I'd shake the camera a little bit which started to accentuate the shine and scratches of the wire.

These photos finally conclude the remainder of this project. But it was a lot of fun to make it! Especially to play around with the photographs.

Body Extension - Final Project

For assignment number four, we were to build a "body extension". This creation was to somehow engage the viewer and make it interactable.

I decided to create a giant mouth. The
original idea was for the mouth itself to pick up trash. Due to the weight and general construction of the mouth, it cannot physically pick up trash itself. Instead, the one wearing the mouth picks up the trash themselves. One uses the lever
below the bottom lip and pushes the lip upwards. This opens the mouth and allows for more room to fit in the trash without the teeth getting in the way.

I have never done this sort of project before and it was definitely a lot of fun and worth the time I put into the crafting the piece. After turning the project in, it is now a decoration for my wall. Success!
